The Trough and I

I’ve run the length and breadth of the Trough of Bowland’s valleys, farmlands, fells and moors, almost always finishing at Williamson Park’s Ashton Memorial to sprint up and down its spiralling steps for condition training. Decades later, during my tenure as the President of the Lancaster and Morecambe District Law Society, it was in Williamson Park’s open theatre that I staged an outdoor theatre of Shakespeare’s The Tempest in collaboration with The Dukes Playhouse in its neatly landscaped gardens and natural amphitheatres.
