Racket Boy – An autobiography by Philip George

Invitation to Attend and Cover Honorary Citizenship Ceremony for Philip George – September 29th, 2024

We are thrilled to invite you to a special occasion where Philip George, an exceptional individual with a rich and varied life journey, will be awarded the Cittadinanza Affettiva (Honorary Citizenship) by the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine National Park. The ceremony will take place on September 29th during the Terre Meravigliose Festival in San Romano. Hosted by Comune di San Romano and presented by the Mayor (Sindaco) Rafaella Mariani.

Philip George’s life is nothing short of remarkable. Originally from Malaysia, Philip was an international-level badminton player, representing his country in numerous global tournaments. After his sports career, he pursued law, becoming a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. Throughout his distinguished career, he also mentored more than 600 professionals and worked with some of the leading law firms in the UK.

In addition to his legal and sports achievements, Philip is the founder of the Philip George Foundation, dedicated to empowering and supporting youth through education, sports, and international cultural exchanges. His Fields of Dreams project, for instance, aims to bring young, underprivileged students from India to England to gain life-changing experiences.

Despite his global experiences, Philip has always been deeply connected to the Garfagnana region, which he has chosen as his permanent home. This strong bond is one of the reasons he is being recognized with this honorary citizenship. His love for the region and commitment to its culture makes him a perfect recipient of this symbolic award, given to those who have demonstrated a special attachment to the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines.
